Get the latest news here! The Southeast Alaska Seiners Association was formed in 1968 by a group of concerned Ketchikan commercial salmon purse seiners. As time wore on in the early 1980's, SEAS expanded to include all of Southeast Alaska. Today the board of directors is from multiple towns throughout Southeast Alaska. Board members hail from Sitka, Petersburg, Ketchikan, Bellingham, Seattle and Burlington-Anacortes.

SEAS Election for Board of Directors
Gentlemen
There were 3 Alaska seats up for re-election that were uncontested.
Troy Thomassen, Jeremy Jensen and Mitch Eide, all of Petersburg.
The nominations are in and there are 3 folks runing for the one Seattle seat.
There has been a retirement of an off-cycle member, Bryan Benkman, of the Kona Rose. So while this voting is for the one seat, the runner up will assume Mr. Benkmans' seat.
First off, Thanks for your many, many years of service, Mr. Benkman. Mr. Benkman served on the SEAS board for the past 16 years as well as prior service both on the board, committees as well as service as the President of SSRAA for years.
Now the Nominations. Two of these will serve on the SEAS board.
Kellen Patrick-- boat will be posted but he upgrades so fast I forget each time.
Alan Jacklet-- Adirondack. Service on the board 6 years so far.
Lauchlin Leach--Gorbusha.
Ballots will be mailed to all members if they haven't been already.
And remember, Task Force meeting in Petersburg November 30th.
